The RazoRock story began during an Italian holiday in 2009. While visiting Italy, Joseph's father-in-law—a retired Italian barber—asked him to bring back a few alum stones, an essential part of his post-shave routine that were difficult to find in North America at the time.
Joseph enlisted the help of his uncle, Michael, and after searching through Tuscany, they discovered a supply of alum stones in a small shop in Lucca, Italy. Curious about their reputation, they tried them for themselves after shaving. The results were immediate—minor nicks were sealed, skin felt toned, and post-shave irritation was noticeably reduced. That simple discovery sparked an idea that would soon become RazoRock.
What started as a hobby quickly grew into a passion. As Joseph and Michael immersed themselves in the world of traditional wet shaving, they discovered the craftsmanship, quality, and satisfaction that came with classic shaving products. Determined to share that experience with others, they partnered with skilled Italian artisans to create exclusive shaving soaps, aftershaves, and grooming products under the RazoRock name.
