This is a smallish brush measuring a total of 97mm (my sample: handle 48.5mm, loft 48.5mm). Right enough, the aperture in the handle is 24mm but the knot looks and feels more like 22/23mm; and the bristles themselves feel a bit 'course' compared to tuxedo or plissoft knots.
However, it's in the performance that this brush shines. It's a well-balanced brush weighing in at 83gms. It could be that the courser bristles work to its advantage as, with [triple milled] soaps, croaps and creams, it whips up an excellent lather.
Altogether the Silver Crown is a really nice, ergonomic brush and very pleasant to use (though one caveat might be that the metal handle can get a bit slippery at times - but nothing drastic); and would make an excellent travel brush.
The Hill & Drew 'Gold Sovereign' brush shares pretty much the same characteristics as the 'Silver Crown' (''24mm'' knot feels more like 22/23mm), but with very slightly different measurements: total length 96mm (loft 51.5mm; handle 44.5mm approx.); weight 83gms. Either brush would be a good choice; but if you're undecided, get 'em both!
